Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
This policy explains what Offerbench collects, why, and what control you have over it. We keep data collection to what the product actually needs.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Scan content: the resume text and job description you submit, plus the resulting report (score, matched and missing keywords, suggestions). This is stored against your account so you can see your scan history and track improvement.
- Billing data: if you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment and gives us a customer identifier and subscription status. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested) used for security and debugging.
How we use it
To run your scans, show your history, manage your account and subscription, respond to support requests, and keep the Service secure. That’s it.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your resume with employers, recruiters, or advertisers. We do not use your resume content to train AI models.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run Offerbench, each handling data on our instructions:
- Vercel — hosting and server logs
- Neon — database hosting
- Anthropic — AI analysis of the text you submit for a scan
- Stripe — payment processing (Pro subscribers only)
- Web3Forms — delivery of contact form messages
We may also disclose data if required by law. If Offerbench is ever acquired, we’ll notify you before your data transfers to a new owner.
How long we keep it
Scan reports are kept while your account is active so you can compare re-scans. Delete your account and we’ll remove your account data and scan history within 30 days, except where we must retain billing records for tax and accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, via our contact form. If you’re in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to processing, request restriction, and complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you logged in. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS, passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and database access is restricted and encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
Offerbench is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
